Making Your Home Shine

Your home will show better and likely sell faster and for more money.

Vacuum cleanerIt’s a common assumption that clean homes net more money. Most people are turned off by even small-amounts of dirt or offending odors when looking at homes to purchase. Sellers can lose thousands of dollars because they do not adequately clean their homes or rid them of unpleasant odors.

If your home is squeaky clean and odor-free, you should be able to sell your home faster and net more money.  A little elbow-grease can go a long way in terms of garnering extra interest and value when selling your home. For owners with pets, children, teens or smokers at home, it is particularly important to work on making your home sparkle and smell inviting.

When planning to move, there is almost no way to avoid the inevitable task of sorting, discarding, donating and packing your current belongings. That task can certainly be delayed until the last minute, but it cannot be avoided. Eliminating things you no longer need now and/or will not take to you next location, will help to make your home feel larger and more spacious. So declutter upfront and consider a thorough deep-cleaning before buyers begin to visit.

By adopting a proactive approach to early moving preparations, your actual move should be easier and less stressful.

The most important take away here is this … a little work now will make less work later and can pay substantial dividends at closing!
